A second-generation stylist, Courtney Vanhoy Garrett has spent her entire life in the beauty industry. From a young age, she knew that a career in this field would allow her to combine her creativity, love of art, and compassion for people.
Licensed since 2004, Courtney has explored many opportunities within the trade, from working in television and film as a hair, makeup, and FX makeup artist to styling for photo shoots and New York Fashion Week runway shows. Today, she owns The VanGar Studio in Charlotte, North Carolina, which proudly provides a welcoming environment to all. She specializes in formal/up-styling, long and textured hair, transitional color corrections, and hand-tied extensions.
For the last decade, Courtney has split her time between working behind the chair, mentoring young stylists, and traveling the country to share her passion for education and Alterna.
